I am 61 years old, married with 2 children and I live in Bargau. I work as an IT business analyst in an IT company in the health insurance sector.
Sport has always played a major role in my life. It started at an early age with handball, then for a few years athletics in parallel. Alongside football, these are the more traditional sports in our area. On my doorstep lies the Swabian Alb, a low mountain range that is ideal for mountain bike tours. This area was my introduction to cycling, a hobby many people around here enjoy very much, although tours tend to be organised privately. In Bargau, we have only had a cycling section for a few years, but now have a number of more ambitious cycling groups developing: MTB, road bike, Enduro and an increasing number of e-bike riders.
Our club is still relatively young, no comparison to the 100-year celebration of the Barnsley Road Club!
It was the duels between Jan Ullrich and Lance Armstrong that finally got me into road cycling which has been my passion for many years. I am particularly fond of the classic tours in the Alps.
