Another amazing weekend of racing for B.R.C trio.

On Saturday 26th June Josie Smith got the ball rolling with a really good ride in the Merlin Cycles Series (6 of 6 events). The event was organised by Team Sheffield on the O14c course, starting at Cuckney, taking the A 60 towards Worksop, along the A619 to Barlborough, then the A616 to the finish near Cuckney.

Josie took 4th place in the Ladies event with a time of 35mins 17secs (25.2 mph). A very good average speed on a lumpy course.

!st Lady, Jessica Rhodes-Jones (Aerocoach) 32m 49s (25.6 mph).

Sunday 27th June. Phil Tyas produced another of his best rides, 17th and a 55min 10secs, not far off that PB of 55-00.

The event this time was the Drighlington B.C. `25`, on the V236/1 in North Yorkshire using the A168/A19 twice. Also riding was Josie Smith and 74 year old Paul Ruta.

Paul `s time of 1hr 02min 27secs (24.2 mph) placed him 62nd. another close to his best of 1-01-08. Chapeau Paul.

Now Josie ....... I`m very nearly speechless.

She told me she knew she was riding hard and at halfway she knew she could beat the 60 minute barrier, at three quarters of the ride covered she calculated it would be a `58`. It wasn`t to be ..... no ....... it was 56MINS 53SECS !!!

A 56-53 in her only 3rd 25 miles time trial and averaged 26.4 mph ... 31st place overall.

1st Lady by 5 minutes and she still wants a faster bike. Wow.

Adam Duggleby (Chapeau Vive le Velo) won the event with a stunning 47m 17s (32.4 mph).

Superb rides by Josie, Paul and Phill.
