Press Release: Yorkshire Black Diamond Classic Sportive 2025 – Push Your Limits for a Great Cause!
Sunday 13th July 2025 – 9AM
Looking for your next big challenge? Whether you’re an avid cyclist or someone who loves pushing physical limits, the Yorkshire Black Diamond Classic Sportive is back for its second year—bigger, better, and ready to test your endurance. This year, why not take on the ride while raising money for a local charity of your choice? Sign up here for £10 https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/315851/Yorkshire-Black-Diamond-Classic-Sportive

A Route with Purpose! We’ve moved the start line to Elsecar, a historic gem between Barnsley and Rotherham, surrounded by stunning countryside. This year’s new route follows sections of the final National Road Series ‘Wentworth Woodhouse Grand Prix,’ meaning you’ll be riding the very roads the professionals will race on! It’s an epic opportunity to challenge yourself while taking in some incredible scenery.
Ride for a Cause! Whether you’re tackling the 80-mile course for personal achievement or using it to raise funds for a local charity, this sportive is about more than just cycling—it’s about making an impact. There’s no better motivation to push through the miles than knowing you're supporting a great cause.
Self-Supported, All About the Experience! There are no official feed stations—just pure, unfiltered riding enjoyment at a no-frills 1990s nightclub entry fee (think Japanese Whispers, Adam & Eve, Bacchus, and Josephines!). But don’t worry—our ‘Broom Wagon’ will be on standby for those in need of mechanical assistance or a lift if the ride gets too tough.
Celebrate at the Finish Line! After pushing your limits, you deserve a proper celebration! Thanks to Maison du Biere and Nailmaker Brewery Co., you’ll have a refreshing pint (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) waiting for you at the finish. Because completing an 80-mile ride—especially for a good cause—deserves a toast!
